When evaluating RG6 for a project, compare attenuation at the actual operating frequency and expected cable length. Total system loss should also account for connectors, splitters and other components rather than relying on cable length alone.
Xingfa's current RG6 range is available in three shielding constructions. The correct option should be selected according to the system specification, electromagnetic environment and required cable construction rather than assuming that more shielding is automatically necessary.
Standard Shield
Aluminum foil + aluminum braid, suitable where the approved system specification calls for a standard shielded RG6 construction.
Tri-Shield
Aluminum foil + aluminum braid + additional aluminum foil, providing an additional shielding layer compared with the current standard-shield construction.
Quad-Shield
Two foil-and-braid shielding combinations, providing the most layered shielding construction among Xingfa's current RG6 options.
Xingfa has produced coaxial cable since 1996 and currently reports five coaxial cable production lines with approximately 200,000 km annual output.
Xingfa also supports OEM and ODM cable projects. For RG6 sourcing, buyers can submit the required shielding construction, conductor requirement, jacket, cable length, printing, packaging, quantity and target market for technical review before quotation.
Xingfa's quality-control process includes incoming raw-material inspection, in-process dimensional and electrical checks, final batch inspection and third-party testing when required. Xingfa's current coaxial cable catalogue lists UL, CE and RoHS for RG6. Buyers requiring compliance documentation should confirm the applicable certificate, declaration or test report for the exact RG6 construction and destination market before ordering.
RG6 and RG11 are both 75-ohm coaxial cables, but they differ in cable dimensions and published attenuation.
Xingfa's RG6 uses an 18 AWG conductor and has an overall diameter of approximately 6.91–7.62 mm depending on shielding construction. Xingfa's RG11 coaxial cable uses a larger 14 AWG conductor and has an approximately 10.16 mm overall diameter.
Based on Xingfa's current published specifications, RG11 also has lower maximum attenuation at comparable frequencies. RG6 may therefore be preferable where its smaller construction and electrical performance already meet the installation requirements, while RG11 can be evaluated when lower attenuation over the required cable run is important.
For a detailed comparison, see our RG6 vs RG11 cable guide.
What is the impedance of RG6 coaxial cable?
Xingfa's current RG6 specification lists a nominal impedance of 75 ± 3 ohms.
What is RG6 cable commonly used for?
RG6 is commonly used for CATV, satellite television, broadband and related 75-ohm video-signal distribution systems.
What is the difference between standard-, tri- and quad-shield RG6?
The difference is the shielding construction. Xingfa's current standard-shield RG6 uses foil plus braid, tri-shield adds another foil layer, and quad-shield uses two foil-and-braid combinations. The required construction should be selected according to the system specification and installation environment.
What is the difference between RG6 and RG11?
RG11 has a larger conductor and cable diameter and lower published attenuation at comparable frequencies. RG6 has a smaller construction and may be easier to route where its electrical performance meets the project requirements.
Can Xingfa manufacture custom RG6 coaxial cable?
Xingfa provides OEM and ODM cable services. RG6 project requirements such as shielding construction, jacket, printing, packaging and quantity can be reviewed before quotation.
