Colored optical fibers are placed into loose tubes made of high-modulus materials, and the loose tubes are filled with thixotropic water-blocking fiber paste.
At the center of the cable core is a glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP). The loose tubes (and filler ropes) are stranded around the central strength member to form a circular cable core, and the gaps in the cable core are filled with water-blocking cable paste. After the plastic-coated aluminum tape is longitudinally wrapped, a polyethylene sheath is extruded to form the cable.
